Padel Court Maintenance
20/03/2023
In the game of padel, as in other sports in which it is played on artificial grass, the most important thing is the maintenance of said grass.
A good maintenance will extend the life of the lawn, and on the one hand make the cost of a new lawn take longer in time, and thus make the investment more profitable. And on the other hand, this set-up will make the grass in optimal conditions, with which the game will be better. Avoiding false bounces of the ball, with the consequent problem that it supposes for the practice of this sport.
We must place special emphasis on the facilities that are outdoors, since it will influence a lot. There are factors such as water, wind, cold... that cause the sand to move with the wind towards certain parts of the track,
accumulating more than necessary in some areas, and others, however, staying with very little sand. Carrying out proper maintenance, we avoid these annoying piles of sand on the courts that make the ball not bounce well, being a problem for the players, as with the rain that can also displace sand towards other parts of the court.
For this, periodic maintenance is necessary, in which, depending on the games and hours played, the set-up is carried out, which can be between 3 to 4 times a year, always depending on the amount that the track is used.
In this maintenance, sand will be added in the areas where it has been displaced by the game, by the wind, etc... once the sand has been added, the track will be swept in general to leave it uniform. At the same time that the grass fiber thread is stretched, freeing the pores at the base of the grass, achieving better drainage and thus being in optimal conditions to play and at the same time avoiding possible injuries.
The life of the grass increases considerably through good maintenance and it is a way to save money and make your court profitable.
